Juice #247 - Aloe Again (Lettuce, Cucumber, Aloe Vera Gel) - Drink it really cold!

#247 Lettuce, Cucumber & Aloe Vera Gel

with Mint and Salt

Fantastically low calories!

I've given 2 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

Before trying this recipe,
I strongly advise you to research online
about the benefits, or not, of ingesting the aloe vera gel.

This is not a juice I would drink just for the pleasure of drinking something enjoyable, but if it's true that aloe vera gel has many health benefits when ingested, then I wouldn't mind having it from time to time just for the benefits. You can taste all ingredients individually, except for the aloe vera, which nevertheless adds a hint of bitterness. I recommend you drink it really, really cold.

#245   Spinach, Alfalfa Sprouts, Ginger & Aloe Vera Gel

Unbelievably low calories!

I've given 1 star to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

Before trying this recipe,
I strongly advise you to research online
about the benefits, or not, of ingesting the aloe vera gel.

If you follow the opinion of those who affirm that ingesting aloe vera gel is good for your health, then you'll find this juice very healthy. Unfortunately, it's far from being one of my best recipes. The aroma is not a pleasant one, as well as the flavor, which is a bit too bitter for my taste. The alfalfa sprouts completely dominate in terms of aroma and flavor and, unless you really enjoy those sprouts, you won't be enjoying your juice very much. If you decide to try it because you believe it's healthy, you can always use a straw to do it, which will disguise the bitterness a little bit.

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 4

Amazingly low calories!

I wanted so much to have found another 5-star recipe today, for my birthday, but, unfortunately, that was not the case. This juice is good, flavorful, very healthy, and absolutely low in calories, but there's something missing, and I cannot detect exactly what. I'm starting to realize that cucumber can be great when mixed with the right ingredient, but it seems it's kind of difficult to find such an ingredient.

Semana do Pepino, Receita 4

Calorias incrivelmente baixas!

with Garlic, Onion and Salt

I've given 2 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 3

Extremely low calories!

Well, well... this is not the best combination. It's interesting to see how two ingredients that are so good individually don't seem to go well when put together. I wonder how it would taste if I hadn't added onion and garlic... Maybe we would get a bit of a bland taste, but, on the other hand, we could also end up with a very delicate and flavorful juice. I think we should try it. What do you think?

Semana do Pepino, Receita 3

Calorias extremamente baixas!

#226  Cucumber, Tomato & Parsley

with Thyme, Salt, and Vinegar

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 1

Amazingly low calories!

There are some fruit and vegetables that seem to have been born to be juiced. That's the case of strawberries and pineapple, for example, as well as cucumber. I'm not sure why I think they are particularly "juiceable", but I do seem to recognize a common trace among them: they all turn into very light, refreshing, and flavorful juices. Thinking of that, I chose cucumber as our main ingredient for this week, and I hope it will bring us, at least, a couple of five stars.

Our juice today got only three stars, but it has some of the lowest caloric ingredients you'll find in the produce world, and also some of the healthiest. Even though it's not the yummiest of all juices, it tastes good and, for the benefits offered, it's definitely worth to include it in your diet. Actually, I believe that it could have been really yummy if I had used a little less thyme. So here is a suggestion: try it with less thyme, or, even better, try it with mint, instead, and let me know how many stars you gave it.

Pepino, Tomate & Salsa

Semana do Pepino, Receita 1

#102  Tomato & Broccoli

with Ginger

A little bit tart, again, though not too much. For a less tart juice, you could use the "Straw Strategy" (see previous posts), reduce the amount of ginger, or just leave it out. Still, the flavor is wonderful, it's healthy, nutritious, and very low in calories!
