Juice #247 - Aloe Again (Lettuce, Cucumber, Aloe Vera Gel) - Drink it really cold!

#247 Lettuce, Cucumber & Aloe Vera Gel

with Mint and Salt

Fantastically low calories!

I've given 2 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

Before trying this recipe,
I strongly advise you to research online
about the benefits, or not, of ingesting the aloe vera gel.

This is not a juice I would drink just for the pleasure of drinking something enjoyable, but if it's true that aloe vera gel has many health benefits when ingested, then I wouldn't mind having it from time to time just for the benefits. You can taste all ingredients individually, except for the aloe vera, which nevertheless adds a hint of bitterness. I recommend you drink it really, really cold.

Alface, Pepino & Gel de Aloe Vera

com Hortelã e Sal

Calorias fantasticamente baixas!

Juice #232 - The 3½-Star (Cucumber, Pineapple, Mint) - Still not the best cucumber blend

#232  Cucumber & Pineapple

with Mint

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 7

So we got to our last recipe of this week, and we didn't get the 5 stars I was so much hoping (and expecting, indeed). I'll come back to cucumber, in the future, and will try to find out why such a wonderful ingredient per se is so difficult to blend with others. It's like a question of honor now: I need to find the perfect cucumber juice!

This juice would actually be a 3½-star, but I don't have such a rating (maybe I should change this). Between 4 and 3, I was forced to go with 3. Four stars mean "delicious", and this juice is "very good". The dominant flavor is mint, which is always a great taste in beverages, and there's a hint of acidity. It's not acid, however, to the point of needing a sweetener.

Juice #232

This recipe makes 2 cups (16 Fl.oz.)

Calories per Cup = 40.23, approximately

Cucumber & Pineapple
with Mint

Ingredients
• 1/3 Cucumber, washed, peeled, cut into small pieces (2.19 oz) (7.44 Cal)
• 1 cup of Pineapple, ready to eat, cut into pieces (5.26 oz) (73.01 Cal)
• 3 leaves of fresh Mint, washed
• 2 cubes of Ice*
• 1½ cups of Water

How to Prepare It
Put all the ingredients in the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix everything for around 1 minute. For a better result, put the ingredients in the following order: cucumber, mint, ice, pineapple, and water.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.

Pepino & Abacaxi

Semana do Pepino, Receita 7

#231  Cucumber & Frozen Strawberries

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 6

Very low calories!

This is a very, very light and refreshing juice, however the cucumber flavor is a bit too dominant and doesn't blend perfectly well with the strawberry's. I believe we could achieve a much better result by increasing the number of strawberries. I'll definitely try it again!

Juice #231

Pepino & Morangos Congelados

Semana do Pepino, Receita 6

Vou tentar, definitivamente!

You can identify two flavors in this light juice: cucumber and Cantaloupe. Even though marking their presence in an individual way, however, those flavors still make a good combination. This is a very light juice, and naturally sweet.

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 4

Amazingly low calories!

I wanted so much to have found another 5-star recipe today, for my birthday, but, unfortunately, that was not the case. This juice is good, flavorful, very healthy, and absolutely low in calories, but there's something missing, and I cannot detect exactly what. I'm starting to realize that cucumber can be great when mixed with the right ingredient, but it seems it's kind of difficult to find such an ingredient.

Calorias incrivelmente baixas!

#228  Cucumber & Broccoli

with Garlic, Onion and Salt

I've given 2 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 3

Extremely low calories!

Well, well... this is not the best combination. It's interesting to see how two ingredients that are so good individually don't seem to go well when put together. I wonder how it would taste if I hadn't added onion and garlic... Maybe we would get a bit of a bland taste, but, on the other hand, we could also end up with a very delicate and flavorful juice. I think we should try it. What do you think?

Semana do Pepino, Receita 3

Calorias extremamente baixas!

#227  Cucumber, Lettuce & Tomato

with Mint, Salt and Vinegar

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 2

Very low calories!

Whenever there's mint (which is the dominant essence in this juice), we have a shophisticated flavor. I would change one thing, however, to make this a 4-star recipe: I would peel the whole cucumber. The skin added a bit of a conflicting pungency and a little more pulp than I would prefer. Still, this juice tastes good, is healthy and very low in calories.

Pepino, Alface & Tomate

Semana do Pepino, Receita 2

#226  Cucumber, Tomato & Parsley

with Thyme, Salt, and Vinegar

I've given 3 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 1

Amazingly low calories!

There are some fruit and vegetables that seem to have been born to be juiced. That's the case of strawberries and pineapple, for example, as well as cucumber. I'm not sure why I think they are particularly "juiceable", but I do seem to recognize a common trace among them: they all turn into very light, refreshing, and flavorful juices. Thinking of that, I chose cucumber as our main ingredient for this week, and I hope it will bring us, at least, a couple of five stars.

Our juice today got only three stars, but it has some of the lowest caloric ingredients you'll find in the produce world, and also some of the healthiest. Even though it's not the yummiest of all juices, it tastes good and, for the benefits offered, it's definitely worth to include it in your diet. Actually, I believe that it could have been really yummy if I had used a little less thyme. So here is a suggestion: try it with less thyme, or, even better, try it with mint, instead, and let me know how many stars you gave it.

Pepino, Tomate & Salsa

Semana do Pepino, Receita 1

• ½ Cucumber (small) washed, peeled, chopped (2.05 oz) (6.96 Cal)
• 3 leaves of fresh Mint, washed (0.04 oz) (0.63 Cal)
• 3 cubes of Ice*
• 1 cup of Water

How to Prepare It
Put all the ingredients inside the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix everything for around 1 minute. For a better result, put 1 cube of ice after the orange, 1 after the cucumber and mint and 1 after the lettuce.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
Note 2: This juice has some pulp, but, for me, it was not necessary to strain it.
