Juice #239 - Pineloupe (Pineapple and Cantaloupe) Another perfect one!

#239   Pineapple & Cantaloupe

I've given 5 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

The Pineapple Week, Recipe 7

Ah, the pleasure of a perfect recipe! A double pleasure, actually: for finding it, and for drinking its fabulous result.

Cantaloupe has a very strong flavor and, because of that, is generally difficult to harmonize it with other ingredients. Pineapple's flavor, however, is strong enough to counterbalance it. You can taste both, but the combination is perfect.

Juice #239
February 13, 2016
This recipe makes 2 cups (16 Fl.oz.)
Total Calories = 98.38, approximately
Calories per Cup = 49.19, approximately

Pineapple & Cantaloupe

Ingredients
• 1 thick slice of Pineapple, ready to eat, center removed, cut into small pieces (3.39 oz) (47.04 Cal)
• 1 cup of Cantaloupe, ready to eat, cut into small pieces (5.33 oz) (51.34 Cal)
• 2 cubes of Ice*
• 1¼ cups of Water

How to Prepare It
Put all the ingredients in the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix everything for around 1 minute. For a better result, put the ice between the pineapple and the cantaloupe.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
Note 2: This juice doesn't need to be strained.

Semana do Abacaxi, Receita 7

The Cucumber Week, Recipe 5

You can identify two flavors in this light juice: cucumber and Cantaloupe. Even though marking their presence in an individual way, however, those flavors still make a good combination. This is a very light juice, and naturally sweet.

Semana do Pepino, Receita 5

#182  Banana, Watermelon, Cantaloupe & Honeydew Melon

Still another gorgeous color, but... this did not work!

The Banana Week, Recipe 4

Maybe the fruit in the fridge were not quite fresh (I had bought one of those large cups with mixed fruit in it, last week, and still had some left, so I decided to use them), or maybe it's just a case of a bad combination of ingredients. I can't tell it for sure. The fact is, this juice did NOT taste good, at least for MY taste. If you want to try it, just go ahead and do so, but I would rather advise you to try one of the many other delicious recipes in this blog!

#177  Broccoli, Cantaloupe & Honeydew Melon

with Ginger and Coconut Water

The Broccoli Week, Recipe 6

Another very flavorful juice, well blended and at the same time allowing for each ingredient to play an individual role. You can taste the broccoli, you can taste the cantaloupe, and the ginger adds a touch of uniqueness. The only ingredients that don't seem to be noticeable are the Honeydew melon and the coconut water (coconut water is generally not noticeable, anyway, and I use it more as a natural sweetener).

Brócolis, Melão Cantaloupe & Melão Amarelo

com Gengibre e Água de Coco

Semana do Brócolis, Receita 6

#123     Cantaloupe & Avocado

with Coconut Water and Lemon Juice

This juice is naturally sweet, very smooth and very flavorful. Avocado's texture is unbeatable in a juice. As for its flavor, it's not actually dominant, so you can use it even if you are not a fan of it, just for the texture (and nutrients, of course).

• 3 cubes of Ice*
• ½ cup of Water

How to Prepare It
Put all the ingredients inside the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and blend everything very well for at least 1 minute. For a better result, put the ice cubes between the cantaloupe and the rest of the ingredients.

Note 2: You can strain the juice, but it's not necessary.

#89      Everything that fits (1)

That's it: everything you can fit in a single serve blender cup (or you can even try everything you can fit in a regular size cup). Just open the fridge and start pulling packs, and bags, and containers... and don't forget to take a look at your fruit basket, naturally. Be modest with the portions of each ingredient, though, so that you can end up with a nice mix.

Of course, you won't have the least idea of how that's going to taste, but that's exactly the fun part! I hadn't. And I must confess I was a bit skeptic. What a pleasant surprise when I tried it and found that it was simply delicious! I could clearly identify two of the ingredients: pineapple and apple. As for the rest, everything blended perfectly well with these two flavors. Great experience!

Now, if you prefer a safer way, with predictable results, here is the recipe of what I did today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Everything that Fits (1)

• 0.56 oz of Pineapple, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (8.33 Cal)
• 2 Grapes, seedless, washed ( 0.46 oz) (8.71 Cal)
• 0.3 oz of Spinach (leaves only), washed (2.53 Cal)
• 1 small flower of Broccoli, washed (2.38 Cal)
• 0.17 oz of Chard, washed, cut in pieces (0.95 Cal)
• 0.52 oz of Red Apple, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (7.8 Cal)
• 2.79 oz of Orange, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (37.13 Cal)
• 0.14 oz of Celery, washed, cut in pieces (0.6 Cal)
• 1 small Tangerine, washed, separated in smaller pieces (2.19 oz) (32.86 Cal)
• 3 cubes of Ice*
• 1½ cup of Water

How to Prepare It
1. Put the strawberry, Cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes and spinach inside the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and top it with 1 cube of ice.
2. Add the broccoli, chard, apple and orange to the cup and top it with another cube of ice.
3. Add the celery and tangerine and top it with the last cube of ice.
4. Add the water and blend everything very well for at least 1 minute.

Note 2: You can strain the juice, but it's not necessary.

#83    Cantaloupe, Pineapple & Papaya

This is the final volume of the "Papaya Saga" (at least for now), since today I used the last piece I had left of it. And, again, this is a juice that even I enjoyed (regardless not liking Papaya, as I repeatedly affirmed in the past few posts). The pineapple, as well as some extra ice, provided extra freshness. I added more water than I generally do, also, because I wanted a very light juice. Delicious!

Juice #83
August 21, 2015
This recipe makes 3 cups (24 fl.oz.)
Total Calories = 120.6, approximately
Calories per Cup = 40.2, approximately

Cantaloupe, Pineapple & Papaya

Ingredients
• 4.44 oz of Cantaloupe, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (42.8 Cal)
• 3.49 oz of Pineapple, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (49 Cal)
• 2.33 oz of Papaya, washed, peeled, cut in pieces (55 Cal)
• 7 cubes of Ice*
• 1½ cup of Water

How to Prepare It
1. Put all the ingredients (except for 5 cubes of ice and ½ cup of water) inside the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix everything well for at least 1 minute.
2. Pour about ¾ of the juice into a large, 24-oz glass (leave the rest inside the blender's cup).
3. Add 5 cubes of ice and ½ cup of water to the juice left inside the blender's cup and blend it well, to crush the ice.
4. Pour the new mixture into the glass with the juice and stir it.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients. I also added some extra ice for coolness.
Note 2: You can strain the juice, but it's not necessary.

Delicioso!

Juice #19 - Nutritional Art (Cantaloupe, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi, Strawberry, Coconut Water) Art that you can drink!

#19    Nutritional Art

made with Cantaloupe, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry

Why settle for a basic juice when you can create a work of art full of flavor? With only a little extra work, you will prepare this astonishing juice, beautiful to look at and delicious to drink!

Juice #19

This recipe makes 3 cups (24 fl oz)*
Total Calories = 216, approximately
Calories per cup = 72, approximately

Cantaloupe, Honeydew Melon, Kiwi & Strawberry Tricolor Juice

Ingredients
• 7.3 oz of Cantaloupe (without skin and seeds) (70.5 Cal)
• 6.5 oz Honeydew Melon (without skin and seeds) (66 Cal)
• 1 small Kiwi (1.52 oz without skin) (17.3 Cal)
• 4 Strawberries, large (5 oz with green tops removed) (40 Cal)
• ½ cup Coconut Water (22.5 Cal)
• ¾ cups crushed Ice (or 3 cubes)**
• 1 cup crushed Ice*** (+ 1 cup optional)
• ¾ cup Water

How to Prepare It

Prepare the Cantaloupe
1. Wash the cantaloupe, cut 2-3 slices off, remove their skin and seeds and cut them in pieces directly into the cup of a small blender.
2. Add ¼ cup of crushed ice (or 1 cube) and ¼ cup of water.
3. Start by pulsing the blender until its content becomes more liquid and then blend it very well, for about a minute. (It's important to start by just pulsing, if you are using a small blender, since you don't want to add more water (we need a consistent juice) and you don't want you blender's engine to burn out, either).
4. Pour the content of the blender into a cup and set it aside.
5. Rinse the blender's cup.

Prepare the Honeydew Melon and Kiwi
1. Wash the Honeydew melon, cut 2-3 slices off, remove their skin and seeds and cut them in pieces directly into the blender's cup.
2. Wash the Kiwi, remove its skin, wash it again and cut it in pieces directly into the blender.
3. Repeat steps 2-5 as described in the cantaloupe's preparation.

Prepare the Strawberries
1. Wash the strawberries carefully, remove and discard their green tops and cut them in pieces directly into the blender's cup.
2. Add the coconut water.
3. Repeat steps 2-5 as described in the cantaloupe's preparation, except for the water (the coconut water substitutes for it).

"Assemble" your Juice
1. Stir the cantaloupe juice and pour it in a large, 24-oz (or larger) container.
2. Add ½ cup of crushed ice slowly, so that it floats on top of the juice.
3. Stir the Honeydew & kiwi juice and pour it slowly into the container, over the layer of crushed ice.
4. Add ½ cup of crushed ice slowly, so that it floats on top of the juice.
5. Stir the strawberry juice and pour it slowly into the container, over the layer of crushed ice.
6. Insert a long straw slowly into the container with the tricolor juice, trying not to disturb its layers.****

*Note 1: That's the size of the container in the pictures. I was actually left with a bit of  the Honeydew & Kiwi and the Strawberry juices. If I prepare it again, I will use a larger container, or reduce the amount of cantaloupe.
**Note 2: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
***Note 3: For this juice you will need some crushed ice. If you don't have an ice crusher on your refrigerator's door, you can do it by hand: wrap 6-8 ice cubes tightly with a clean dish cloth and crush them with a hammer (like the one you use to soften the meat). Do not crush the ice in the blender, since you want it crushed into somewhat large pieces.
****Note 4: When you start drinking, you can start stirring the juice slowly to create beautiful and artistic color effects. After drinking about an inch or so, you can completely stir it, add crushed ice to the top and decorate it with a beautiful strawberry (see picture above.)

Suco Tricolor de Melão Cantaloupe, Melão Amarelo, Kiwi & Morango

Ingredientes

5. Enxague o copo do liquidificador.

Prepare o Honeydew Melon e o Kiwi
