Juice #240 - A-P-P (Apple, Peach, Pineapple) A little acid, but oh so smooth!

#240   Apple, Peach (yellow, frozen) & Pineapple

I've given 4 stars to this juice. Don't forget to attribute your own at the bottom of this post!

We are starting a week without a theme. I have lots of different supplies in the fridge, and I want to use them before buying more. Among those, there's still some pineapple left from last week, so I'll be using it in a couple of this week's recipes.

Our first juice of the week came out a bit too acid for me, but the different flavors blend quite well. The texture is perfect, a bit thick and really smooth. If I had to change anything, I would just add some honey for extra sweetness.

Juice #240
February 14, 2016
This recipe makes 2 cups (16 Fl.oz.)
Total Calories = 132.88, approximately
Calories per Cup = 66.44, approximately

Apple, Peach (yellow, frozen) & Pineapple

Ingredients
• 1 Apple, red, small, washed, peeled, seeds removed, cut into small pieces (2.93 oz) (43.68 Cal)
• ¾ cup of Yellow Peach, frozen, cuto into small pieces (3.21 oz) (50 Cal)
• ½ cup of Pineapple, ready to eat, center removed, cut into small pieces (2.79 oz) (39.2 Cal)
• 2 cubes of Ice*
• 1 cup of Water

How to Prepare It
Put all the ingredients in the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix everything for around 1 minute. For a better result, put the ice between the apple and the pineapple, followed by the frozen peach.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
Note 2: This juice doesn't need to be strained.

A textura é perfeita, espessa e verdadeiramente cremosa.

Juice #50 - Peaberry (Peach, Strawberries, Peach Tea, Coconut Water) Divinely delicious!

#50  Peach & Strawberry

with Peach Tea and Coconut Water

Today I used for the first time my new blender, which has a quite potent engine (not quiet at all).  I used one of the single serve cups that comes with the kit. I was delighted with how fast and well my juice was blended, leaving no trace of pulp (and I did not peel the peach). I will post more, in the near future, about the blenders (the new and the one I had been using up to today), and how I finally decided which blender to buy among so many options. For now, let's concentrate on today's recipe.

As I promised yesterday, I am bringing to you, today, a divinely delicious juice! It's simple, fast to prepare and absolutely flavorful.

This recipe makes 2 cups (16 fl.oz.)
Total Calories = 137, approximately
Calories per Cup = 68.5,approximately

Peach & Strawberry
with Peach Tea and Coconut Water

Ingredients
• 1 White Peach with skin (5.86 oz after removing pit) (66.4 Cal)
• 2.2 oz Strawberries (green tops removed) (17.76 Cal)
• ½ cup Coconut Water (22.5 Cal)
• 1 cup Peach Tea, bottled, slightly sweet (30 Cal)*
• ½ cup crushed Ice (or 2 cubes)**

How to Prepare It
1. Wash the peach carefully and cut it in pieces directly inside the cup of a small blender (or the small cup of a regular blender).
2. Wash the strawberries carefully, remove their green tops and cut them in pieces directly into the blender.
3. Add the other ingredients and blend everything well for around 1 minute.
4. Cover the blender's lid with a thick layer of paper towel, press the paper against the lid and shake the blender's cup vigorously with both hands.
5. Blend the juice again for at least 30 seconds.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 three times to make your juice really smooth.***

*Note 1: I used Honest Tea - Peach Oo-La-Long - Just a tad sweet (bought it at Whole Foods).
**Note 2: Because I used a blender with a potent engine, I didn't bother about using crushed ice. The blender was able to crush the ice cubes in a blink.
***Note 3: You can strain the juice, but it's not necessary. If you are using a potent blender, you can skip steps 4 to 6.

*Observação 1: Usei Honest Tea - Peach Oo-La-Long - Levemente doce (comprei no Whole Foods).

Juice #43 - The Winter Juice (Peach, Apple, Wine, Maple Syrup) Good for winter, and good for summer.

#43 Another Cooked "Juice"

As I mentioned yesterday, today I'm posting the recipe for the second cooked beverage I prepared with refuses from other juices in the last two days (in this case, refuses from the juice posted on July 4th).

Cinnamon Stick garnishes the beverage and serves as a spoon to stir it

"Juice" #43
July 6, 2015
This recipe makes 1 cup (8 fl.oz.)
Total Calories = Unknown (66.7, approximately, for the Wine and Maple Syrup + calories in the refuses)

Peach & Apple with Wine and Maple Syrup

Ingredients
• Skin and pits (some flesh left) of 4 Peaches (Cal ?)
• Skin and central part (some flesh left) of 1 Red Apple (Cal ?)
• ½ small bottle of Red Wine (2.5 fl oz) (62.5 Cal)*
• ¼ tsp Maple Syrup (4.2 Cal)
• 2 cups Water

How to Prepare It
1. Wash carefully the peaches and peel them.
2. Wash carefully the apple and peel it.
3. Cut the peaches and apples in pieces and put the flesh aside. Put the refuses (skin, pits and the center of the apple) inside a small saucepan.
4. Add 2 cups of water and the Maple syrup, stir it, and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
5. Lower the heat to medium and let it cook for 30 minutes (you can set the timer, if your stove has one).
6. Add the wine and bring the mixture to a boil, again, over high heat. Using a small strainer, smash the mixture as much as you can.
7. Lower the heat to medium and let it cook for 30 minutes more.
8. Let the mixture cool for a while and strain it into a bowl using a medium size strainer, pressing the mixture against it. You can drink your "juice" warm, or let it cool in the fridge.

*Note 1: I used Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, California, 2012

"Suco" No 43

1. Lave cuidadosamente os pêssegos e descasque-os.
2. Lave cuidadosamente a maçã e descasque-a.

*Observação 1: Usei Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, California, 2012

Juice #41 - The Patriot (Peach, Strawberries, Apple, Coconut Water) Celebrating 4th of July!

#41 Let's Celebrate the 4th of July!

Red, White & Blue Juice made from Strawberries, Peaches, an Apple and a little bit of food coloring. Well, the colors are somewhat distorted (the red is pinkish, the blue is greenish and the white is yellowish), but we can get the feeling. I read that food coloring Blue 2 is not good for your health, but I didn't see any reference to Blue 1, which I used in this recipe. Besides, the amount is small, and it's not as if you were going to start using it every day.

Juice Juice #41
July 4, 2015
This recipe makes 5 cups (40 fl oz)
Total Calories = 186, approximately
Calories p/Cup = 37.2, approximately

Red, White & Blue

Ingredients
• 5.3 oz of Strawberries, green tops removed (42 Cal)
• 7.5 oz of White Peach (flesh only, without skin) (85 Cal)
• 3.4 oz of Red Apple (flesh only, without skin) (47.5 Cal)
• 4 tbsp Coconut Water (11.2 Cal)
• 1½ cup crushed Ice (or 3 cubes)*
• 4 cups crushed Ice**
• 6 tbsp Water

How to Prepare It

Prepare the Red Juice
1. Wash the strawberries carefully, remove their green tops, chop them and put them inside the cup of a small blender together with the coconut water and ½ cup of crushed ice (or 1 cube).
2. Start by pulsing the blender until its content becomes more liquid and then blend it very well, for about a minute. (It's important to start by just pulsing, if you are using a small blender, since you don't want to add more liquid (we need a consistent juice) and you don't want you blender's engine to burn out, either).
3. Pour the mixture into a glass and set it aside.
4. Rinse the blender's cup.

Prepare the Blue Juice
1. Wash the peaches carefully, remove their skin, cut them in small pieces and put 2/3 inside the blender's cup together with ½ cup of crushed ice (or 1 cube) and 3 tbsp of water. Keep the skin and pits with some flesh around them (we are going to use them for another juice).
2. Repeat step 2 as for the red juice.
3. Pour the content of the blender into a glass, add ½ tsp of blue food coloring, stir it well and set it aside.
4. Rinse the blender's cup.

Prepare the White Juice
1. Wash the apple carefully, remove its skin, chop it (keep the skin and the center of the apple with some flesh around it because we are going to use them for another juice) and put it inside the blender's cup.
2. Add the rest of the peach, ½ cup of crushed ice (or 1 cube) and 3 tbsp of water.
3. Repeat step 2 as for the red juice.

"Assemble" your Juice
1. Divide the white juice between two 20-oz glasses and add 1 cup of crushed ice slowly, so that it floats on the juice.
2. Stir the blue juice and add half of it to each glass. Repeat the process of adding crushed ice.
3. Stir the red juice, add it on top of the other juices and insert a long straw slowly into the container, trying not to disturb its layers.***

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
**Note 2: For this juice you will need some crushed ice. If you don't have an ice crusher on your refrigerator's door, you can do it by hand: wrap 6-8 ice cubes tightly with a clean dish cloth and crush them with a hammer (like the one you use to soften the meat). Do not crush the ice in the blender, since you want it crushed into somewhat large pieces.
***Note 3: When you start drinking, you can start stirring the juice slowly to create beautiful and artistic color effects. After drinking some, you can completely stir it to mix the flavors (the flavor is delicious when you mix everything). This juice, when mixed, turns into a very beautiful light turquoise color.

Suco No 41
4 de julho de 2015
Esta receita faz 5 xícaras (1.182ml)
Calorias totais = 186 aproximadamente
Calorias por xícara = 37,2 aproximadamente

Vermelho, Azul e Branco

Ingredientes

4. Enxague o copo do liquidificador.

Prepare o Suco Azul
4. Enxague o copo do liquidificador.

Prepare o Suco Branco

"Assemble" your Juice

#37 Blueberries Redeemed

Am I feeling glad or what? So here we are, bringing to you this wonderful juice made with what? Blueberries! Great taste, now paired with a great color. Let me tell you one little secret, however: do not underestimate the peach, even though it's only half of it; it plays a very important role in boosting the flavor of the juice.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.

A redenção dos Mirtilos (Blueberries)

Estou contente!

Juice #4 - Yellow Juice (Orange, Pineapple, Peach, Lemon, Coconut Water) A fruit-only delight!

#4    Yellow Juice

Somebody voted for “fruit only” juices, so here we go. Notice, however, that “fruit only” juices are generally more caloric than the mixed and “vegetable only” juices.

Juice #4
May 28, 2015
This recipe makes 3 cups (24 fl oz)
Total Calories = 232, approximately
Calories per cup = 77.3

Yellow Juice

Ingredients
1 Orange, medium size (62 Cal)
1 Lemon, medium size (17 Cal)
2 oz Pineapple (25 Cal)
1 White Peach, medium size (38 Cal)
2 cups Coconut Water (90 Cal)
¼ cup shredded Ice (or 2 cubes)*

How to Prepare It
1. Peel the orange and remove the white part from its inside. Cut the orange in 4 pieces and put them into a small blender's cup.
2. Peel the lemon and remove all its pith, including the inside (it’s healthy but too bitter, and would require the use of sugar, which we are trying to avoid as much as possible). Cut the lemon in 4 pieces and add them to the content of the cup.
3. Cut the pineapple into smaller pieces and add them to the cup.
4. Peel the peach, discard its pit, cut the peach in pieces and add them to the cup.
5. Add the Ice and the Coconut Water to the cup.
6. Blend everything very well, for at least 1 minute.
7. Strain the juice little by little into a 20-oz mug using a small colander. Steer the juice in the colander with a small spoon as you strain it and empty the colander of its residual paste before pouring more juice into it.
8. If you would like your juice to be really cold, add some ice cubes.

*Note: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.

Suco Amarelo

5. Adicione o Gelo e a Água de Coco.
6. Misture bem, por pelo menos 1 minuto.
