Juice #18 - Green Salad (Alfalfa Sprouts, Cucumber, Garlic, Lemon Grass, Lime Juice, Miso, Olive Oil, Onion, Salt, Vinegar) A tasty green salad!

#18    Green Salad

This is a very light juice, very liquid and very low in calories. It's great for when you are thirsty and would like to drink something flavorful instead of water (though you need to remember that unlike water, it will add a few calories to your daily diet). I believe this would be a great juice for the morning as a healthier option to substitute for coffee, and particularly on a hot day, when you feel like drinking something cold.

Salada Verde

Juice #16 - The Green Tea Juice (Kale, Pear, Lemon Juice, Green Tea with Ginseng and Plum Juice) Juice and green tea with a twist.

#16   Pear & Kale

with Lemon Juice + Green Tea with Ginseng and Plum Juice

This is a juice for the Green Tea lovers, which is its predominant flavor. Since I am not a Green Tea lover, I used a bottled Green Tea with Ginseng and Plum Juice. The Green Tea flavor, however, still prevailed. Nevertheless, I liked it and drank it all the way to the end with pleasure. This makes me think that the Green Tea lovers will probably like it still better. I want to try it again, however, with an adapted version that will neutralize a bit its flavor.

Pera & Couve

O sabor do Chá Verde, no entanto, ainda prevaleceu.

Juice #14 - The Grassy (Lettuce, Alfalfa Sprouts, Honeydew Melon, Lemon Juice, Lime Juice) Green and grassy!

#14   Honeydew Melon, Lettuce & Alfalfa Sprouts

with Lemon Juice and Lime Juice

This is a very green juice, with a “grassy” taste (mostly because of the alfalfa sprouts) and a slight trace of tartness (lemon and lime juices), regardless the subtle sweetness added by the Honeydew Melon. If you prefer a less caloric juice and without any trace of sweetness, exclude the melon. On the other hand, if you prefer a stronger sweetness, reduce the amount of the lemon and lime juices, add only one of them, or even avoid them at all.

9. Add ¼ of crushed ice (or 1 cube) to the previously mixed juice still inside the blender’s cup.
10. Blend everything very well, again, for at least 1 minute.
11. Cover the lid of the blender’s cup with a thick layer of paper towel, press the paper against the lid and shake the cup vigorously with both hands.
12. Repeat steps 10 and 11 for 2 or 3 times to make sure your juice will be smooth.
13. Pour the juice into a tall 18-oz glass.
14. Add ½ cup of water to the blender’s cup, shake it and add it to the juice in the tall glass. Stir it well.

*Note: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.

Cucumber & Beets

Ingredients
• 2 small Beets (3.03 oz without skin) (37 Cal)
• ½ Cucumber (3.99 oz without skin) (13.6 Cal)
• Small piece of Sweet Onion (0.11 oz) (1 Cal)
• Small pinch of Garlic Paste
• Small pinch of  Salt
• ½ tsp Lime Juice (0.6 Cal)
• ¼ tsp Olive Oil, Extra Virgin (10 Cal)
• 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (3 Cal)
• ½ cup crushed Ice (or 2 cubes)*
• 1 ½ cup of water

How to Prepare It
1. Remove the skin of the beets, wash them, cut them in small pieces and put them inside the cup of a small blender.
2. Remove the skin of the cucumber, wash it, cut it in small pieces and put them together with the beets.
3. Cut the onion in very small pieces and put them together with the beets and cucumber.
4. Add all other ingredients to the blender’s cup.
5. Blend everything very well, for at least 1 minute.
6. Cover the lid of the blender’s cup with a thick layer of paper towel, press the paper against the lid and shake the cup vigorously with both hands.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for 2 or 3 times to make sure your juice will be smooth.**
5. Pour the juice in a 20-oz mug and enjoy it!

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
**Note 2: The juice comes up really smooth, and you can keep steering it while you drink to keep its smoothness. You’ll find just a little bit of pulp at the very end of the juice (which, for me, it’s still delicious). If you don’t want any pulp at all, use a small colander and strain the juice into the mug.
