#204  Apple, Kale & Ginger

The Apple Week, Recipe 7

Well, well... This is not a very tasty juice. Since apple and kale have already been tested together with success, I can only think that ginger doesn't go well together with those two. Regardless, it's not actually something that you can't drink at all, and it's healthy and low in calories, so it should work well as a detox juice.

Apple, Kale & Ginger

Ingredients
• 1 Apple (I used Red Rome), washed, peeled, seeds removed, cut in small pieces (4.58 oz) (70.2 Cal)
• 1 Leaf of Lacinato Kale, washed, spine removed, torn into pieces (0.63 oz) (9.18 Cal)
• 1 slice of Ginger, washed, peeled, chopped (0.21 oz) (4.86 Cal)
• 5 cubes of Ice*
•  cups of Water

How to Prepare It
1. Put the apple, 3 cubes of ice and ½ cup of water inside the cup of a small blender (or the single serve cup of a regular blender) and mix it for around 30 seconds.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blended apple and mix everything again for around 30 seconds.

*Note 1: The ice helps to better grind the ingredients.
Note 2: This juice doesn't need to be strained.

Maçã, Couve & Gengibre

Semana da Maçã, Receita 7

Okay...
